We had us an old-fashioned barn burner in the Professional Flight Division of The 2009 Austin County Classic.
First place with rounds of 63 @ Stephen F. Austin and 61 at River Ridge for a 125 Best Ball Total were Alan Hodde & Bobby Gates.
2nd went to Jeremy Alcorn & Ryan Baca with rounds of 63/62-125
3rd was Mike McCafferty & Michael Arnaud with 62/64-146.
1st Flight Champions were Ryan Smith & Jerry Gregurek with 68/68-136.
2nd Flight Champs were John Long & Ken Anders with 70/68-138.
3rd Flight Champions are Chris Lowe/ Rick Lowe with scores of 75/69-144.
Congrats to the pros who played some lights out golf and to all our amateur winners who took home Titleist drivers, Vokey wedges, and Scotty Cameron putters. Ask anyone who played if they had fun or if they saw some great golf- I’ll bet you’ll want to play in next year’s tournament after talking to them.
River Ridge Senior Championship
Round 1 of the River Ridge Senior Championship is in the books. Round 2 is this Tuesday @ 8:30 AM.
Our leaders so far are: Gross- 72- Fernando Delos Reyes, 73- Hewitt Bauguss, 76- Jim Anderson and Bill Clinton. Our Net leaders are- 67- Fernando Delos Reyes and Larry Snider, 68- Bill Clinton, Gary Frueh, Ron Hopton & Harold Weddle.
MSGA Results 10/3 - 10/10
Week of 10/3 - 10/10: The results of last week’s Low Gross/ Low Net tournament.
Low Gross went to Hewitt Bauguss with an excellent round of 70. 2nd place went to Tom Raley with a 77, and 3rd was Bill Schmidt with an 84. In the Net Division, David Smith took 1st with a 65, followed by Ron Matthews in 2nd with a 66 and Harold Gluckman in 3rd with a score of 67.

MSGA: Results from Tuesday’s 3 Man, 2 Best Ball Net tournament
Results from the 3 Man, 2 Best Ball Net tournament, held June 3, 2008:

2nd Place was Bobby John, Sam Labita & Bill Schmidt with 120
3rd was Bob McDaniel, Gene Mire and David Nahoun with 122
In last week’s Interclub tournament, River Ridge B Team took 1st place, with Bob Leitgen, Roy Holliday, Mack Stewart & Ron Matthews being the high point-getters. In the overall standings, River Ridge is tied for 1st with Houston Oaks. This week’s tournament is a Low Gross/ Low Net format. Call or email the pro shop to sign up.
2008 Dave Marr Cup - A Great Success
It was once again a great honor to host The McDonald’s Dave Marr Cup. We wish to thank our honoree, Jeff Bagwell, for his time and charity. We want to thank the great staff from Ronald McDonald House for their hard work and for all the time and effort they put into the event. We would like to congratulate this year’s Dave Marr Cup Champions; the team of Blake Stoehr and Tim Studdert shot a 2 day total of 141 to win the Championship Flight. Blake and Tim will have their names engraved on the Dave Marr Cup trophy. Thanks once again to all the competitors, volunteers, and the River Ridge staff for making this year’s tournament such a success.

Stableford Tournament - played 2/12/08
Tuesday’s Stableford tournament was played in storm warnings from the weather forecasters. But, we finished enough holes to declare winners before the storms broke over our heads. 1st Place was Ray Mangum; 2nd Place was Bob Young; 3rd was Dan McWilliams and 4th Place went to Tony DeRouen. By the way, River Ridge MSGA is leading the Inter-club after the first tournament. Let’s keep it going!
Adams Winter 2007-2008 Pro Tour Series.
River Ridge played host to the Adams Winter 2007-2008 Pro Tour Series.
The 36 hole tournament was played on Thursday February 7th and Friday the 8th with a field of 54 professional golfers attempting to work their way onto the PGA Tour. The course was in excellent shape and the scores proved it! The winning score was a two-day total of 135 with a first day low of 66. For more information visit the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series Web site.
